A Bolton based adviser, Phillip Rose, APFS, Chartered Financial Planner at Independent Financial Advisor Ltd has proved himself a true winner by scooping a financial planning award at the prestigious Money Management Financial Planner of the Year Awards 2011.
Phillip won the award for Options in Retirement Planner of the Year 2011.
The Money Management Financial Planner of the Year awards, dubbed ‘the Oscars of the personal finance industry’ by BBC Panorama when it filmed at the very first awards presentation, are the premier awards for financial advisers, recognising their wide ranging duties, professionalism and the invaluable service that they offer to clients.
To achieve the award, Phillip had to present a written 2,500 word solution to at least three complex real life scenarios. It’s all done anonymously, with each entrant given a PIN number so that the judges don’t know whose paper they are marking. Phillip then had to convince a panel of judges of his expertise in his selected specialisations in a face to face interview.
At a gala awards event at the Dorchester Hotel on London’s Park Lane, in presenting the award to Phillip, Janet Walford OBE, editor of Money Management magazine said: “Once again I am delighted to see new entrants and repeat winners to this toughly fought area of financial advice. The competition is extremely tough and this year was no different with the highest quality of candidates. All of the winners represent the very best of professional advice – it doesn’t matter where they’re based, how they are paid, how technologically advanced they are – the only criterion for winning one of these awards is pure talent.”
